Pretty Feet for Summer

Summer is almost here and it’s time to put our nice feet on. For me, that means putting away the winter boots, pulling off the fluffy socks and taking a look at what’s happened down below over the winter. (It’s also when I again wonder when my feet moved to another zip code. I have fond memories of painting my toes in years past, now it’s a task best left for the professionals. I just can’t imagine focusing on that region for very long. Can you?) However, there are a few favorites for foot care that I do at...

Summer Ready Legs

Are your legs summer ready? If your legs have been hiding under your jeans all winter like mine have, they’re probably looking a little less tan than they did at the end of last summer.  I know mine are. Fashion for Women Over 50

I’m always on the lookout for great fashion for women over 50, and today I’m sharing one of my favorites. Susan Street is the author of the popular Blog, Fifty Not Frumpy.  Besides being incredibly beautiful and having a great sense of style, Susan is a poster child for mid-life reinvention. Needing a new wardrobe for her leaner, fitter self, her blogging journey began when she started shopping for styles that would suit her...

Spring Nail Polish

Spring is in the air! Which means new nail polish, of course. I have a hard time getting nail polish to stay on.  It chips and peels within hours sometimes. Recently I’ve found a new line that I absolutely love. It’s Miracle Gel from Sally Hansen. The polish is rich and thick and no UVA light is needed for curing. The colors are fabulous too. I originally bought Pretty Piggy, the darker pink on the right. The color was wonderful in the bottle but didn’t work well with my fair skin. The lighter Pinky Promise is a much better shade....

Salon Blowout – At Home

If you and I were to meet at a party, you might think that I had a head of hair that was thick and full of body — a hairdresser’s dream. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s all smoke and mirrors. In reality, my hair is thin, baby fine and will hardly hold a curl if I beg it. Here’s a bootleg pic of me, before the magic. And my hair in this photo has a ton of mousse and argan oil in it for body. Just sad. I spent my teen years with stringy hair, and...
