I’m a Birch Box subscriber, and received a sample of They’re Real mascara in one of my monthly boxes.

I’ve used it several times and it was often my go-to mascara when I was in Italy.

Even though I find myself loving the results, there’re pros and cons to this formula.

Most importantly, it truly does give your lashes a dramatic lengthening appearance. Here’s how it looks with just one coat. I’ve only done one eye, and have no other makeup on other than the mascara.

You can see the difference is dramatic and that’s one of the things I really love about this brand.

The other feature I love is the application brush. It has some longer, stiff, spiky bristles at the end which really help to define individual lashes and separate them.

I find this to be a handy feature and can define lashes way out to the tip using it.

What I don’t care for is the formula can get clumpy fairly easily. It’s almost a race to get a full application on before it starts balling up on the end of my lashes.

The other issue, is it’s difficult to get off at the end of the day. I’ll admit to probably being fussy about this, as my lazy factor is fairly high in the evening.

In the end, I do love the results I get on my lashes and will no doubt order a tube when the sample is done.

If you’re looking for dramatic lashes, They’re Real definitely delivers.
